Therefore, it is common for users to convert other file types to ODT, which is the standard extension for most OpenOffice documents. PDF, which is the most common file format for digital files, is usually converted to ODT when one needs to edit the content without specialized software. There are many ways to accomplish this task. Once PDFelement launches, you can launch the converter module by clicking the large "Convert PDF" icon on the primary window. This will open a smaller window that allows you to upload your PDF files for conversion. Click "Add Files" at the top to import as many PDF files as you want.
Once the file(s) has been uploaded, make sure that Word is selected as the output format on the top right corner. If necessary, you can also select a range of pages to convert to Word next to each uploaded file. Also, if you have one or more scanned documents, ensure you tick the box next to OCR to make sure all the content is lifted from your PDF file(s). Finally, click "Convert" to begin. Once the process is complete, a pop-up notification box will notify you of the status.
Navigate to the output folder where your converted Word files were stored. Open each file with Microsoft Word and navigate to the File menu. Click "Save As" and select the drop-down options box titled "Save as Type". Here, select "OpenDocument Text". Select the appropriate destination folder and click "Save" once you are done.
