How to Convert PDF to ODT Files

OpenOffice.org is a popular alternative to Microsoft Word because of its flexibility and usability across different platforms. Therefore, it is common for users to convert other file types to ODT, which is the standard extension for most OpenOffice documents. PDF, which is the most common file format for digital files, is usually converted to ODT when one needs to edit the content without specialized software. There are many ways to accomplish this task. Step 2. Convert PDF to Word

Once the file(s) has been uploaded, make sure that Word is selected as the output format on the top right corner. If necessary, you can also select a range of pages to convert to Word next to each uploaded file. Also, if you have one or more scanned documents, ensure you tick the box next to OCR to make sure all the content is lifted from your PDF file(s). Finally, click "Convert" to begin. Once the process is complete, a pop-up notification box will notify you of the status.

Step 3. Save Word as ODT

Navigate to the output folder where your converted Word files were stored. Open each file with Microsoft Word and navigate to the File menu. Click "Save As" and select the drop-down options box titled "Save as Type". Here, select "OpenDocument Text". Select the appropriate destination folder and click "Save" once you are done.
