How to Highlight Text in PDF

Undoubtedly, Portable Document Format a.k.a PDF is one of the most secure ways of sending the document without running the content and the formatting of a document. This is one of the main reasons that most of the books, important documents and forms are sent in this format. Sometimes, you may want to highlight text in PDF to make an emphasis or comment on specific items. Now let’s learn how to accomplish the task.

Part 2 The Steps for Highlighting Text in PDF

Once you have downloaded PDFelement, click on it and run it. Follow the easy steps to install it on your computer. Unlike most of the computer, Wondershare PDFelement does not have a complex installation wizard. All you have to do is to click 2-3 times and the program will be installed within a few seconds.

Step 1. Open PDF in PDFelement

Open the program and from the Home window click on the "Open" button. Select the PDF file and click on the "Open" button again. Then the file will be opened in PDFelement.

Step 2. Highlight Text on PDF

In order to highlight the text in the PDF file, click on the "Comment" tab and then select the "Highlight" button. Now, move the cursors and hold the left click to highlight the text in your PDF file. If you want to highlight a large area at a time, you can choose the "Area Highlight" button.

Step 3. Edit Your PDF (Optional)

Once you have highlighted the text, you can also edit the text or the images in the PDF file. Click on the "Edit" tab on the top bar and select the function accordingly. You can either edit the text in the PDF file, edit the image, add new text or image and even the link in the PDF file. All of these functions are pretty much easy to use. Simply select one function and use select the area of the PDF file where you want to apply that function.

Step 4. Save Your PDF

After highlighting the text or making other changes to your PDF file, when you will close it, a new dialogue will pop-up on the screen asking you to save the changes before they can be applied to the PDF file. Click on "Yes" to make them effective.
