How to Create Redacted PDF Files

It has always been the norm to pen down information in Microsoft Word or similar applications. They convert the final copy of a document into PDF to prevent further editing and unauthorized access. The technique is adequate for some cases. Nevertheless, changing over the records to PDF does not so much ensure the secrecy of the data. Step 1. Open File with PDFelement

On Mac, start PDFelement and click the "Open File" button to upload your document to that you need to redact.

Step 2. Make a PDF Redacted

Once the document opens, glide to the "Protect" tab. Pick Mark for Redactions from the submenu. Select the region that you might want to cover up forever. After designating the redaction area, you can change the look of the redaction area with the help of the color palette. You can also tick "Overly Text" to compose custom content on the redacted area.

On Mac, you will see the "Redaction" button towards at the top right corner. Click the Arrow icon next to the Redaction button to open a submenu. Here you can choose options for checking for redaction, choosing multiple pages for redaction, and searching and redaction. Click "Mark for Redaction" button to start designating the content that you need to expel.

Step 3. Save the Redacted File

It will be ideal if you take note, that redaction is an irreversible procedure. When you proceed with the process, you will not be able to recover the redacted content. Now click the "Apply Redactions" button. PDFelement will perform redaction and will delete the matter. Head to the "File" tab and pick "Save as" to create a copy.
