Although all the agencies and government offices use Word for preparing files, they convert them into PDF and publish them same over the Internet. Of course, they add a password to prevent further editing or hide sensitive information. Nevertheless, they forget that the passwords can also be cracked. To make your document safe, you can sanitize PDF with redaction. This process will hide sensitive information and images from a PDF document permanently.

Launcn PDFelement and from the Home window choose "Open" to upload the document that you would like to redact.
Mac users also need to launch he program and click "Open File" to browse to the report that you would like to redact.
After the file uploads, navigate to the "Protect" tab to open additional features. Press the "Mark Redaction" option and select the text or images that you want to redact by drawing a rectangle onto the items. Once complete, you will notice that a red colored rectangle box appears that encloses the information or the pictures that you selected.
Press the Redaction button at the top left corner. You will see a small sub-menu with several options. Now select the "Mark for Redaction" option. Mark the text or images from the document that you want to redact. You can change the color of the redaction area, add custom text and redaction codes to the redacted area.
As you finished selecting the text or image, click the "Apply Redactions" button located in the menu toolbar. PDFelement will once again prompt a message stating that it will continue with the redaction process and will remove the selected content permanently. Reversing the action will be impossible. Click "OK" to continue with the process and allow the program to perform the necessary measures. Navigate to the "File" tab and choose "Save As" or "Save" to save the changes made to the document.
After marking the redaction area, Mac users also need to click "Redaction > Apply Redactions" to confirm the change.
