For Windows: Click the "Open" button in order to open the program from the Home window. Then you can select the required PDF file as you click on the "Open" button again. This will open the file in the PDFelement.
For Mac: Click the "Open File" button on the Home window and select the file you want to annotate.
For Windows: You can add stick notes, typewriter, text box and area highlight by clicking the "Comment" tab and the exact kind of comments you want to add. All options are highlighted with their icons like "Textbox", "Note" etc. Use your mouse to find and select the one you want.
For Mac: You have the option of adding text comments, stick notes, text box and callouts. To activate the feature, you have to click on the "Markup" button and it becomes blue in color when it is enabled. Note that when it is enabled, there will be more options on the toolbar. Use your mouse to check on each option. Click the desired option and choose the location where you intend to add this feature. Text comment is indicated by "T" among the options.
For Windows: If you have highlighted the text and made the changes you would like to do, then you can save the changes. Close it, and click on "Yes" for the dialog popup asking you to save your changes. It is important to note that without clicking "Yes", the edit you have done will not be applied to the PDF.
For Mac: Click "Save As" in the "File" tab to finish the saving process.
