What is Military Pay Chart
The Military Pay Chart is a document of the US Armed forces which includes the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine and Coast Guards. It is a comprehensive document that highlights the remuneration and benefits applicable to all the members of the US armed forces. It is the product of the National Defense Authorization Act which is signed by the President and it subject to review periodically. The current pay chart has been effective from January 1, 2015.
Military Pay Chart Format
The format of the military pay chart is simple but well detailed. It contains the basic pay of all US service men according to their year of service and pay grade. It includes the allowances like the housing, family separation, clothing and other allowances for all enlisted members of the entire armed forces. The pay chart also reveals the incentives and special pays for hazardous duties. It includes the monthly career sea pay for the navy, Marine Corps and air force members. The pay chart also highlights the special pays for health care professional officers which include the medical and dental officers.
Additional Tips for Military Pay Chart
Although the military pay chart is not complex, it is important for service men to look at the service year and grades carefully in order to obtain the right information on their pay.
The drill pay which is effective from January 1, 2015 is also included in the pay chart. Use it to check your drill pay involving your year of service.
