How to Export PDF to HTML

You want to improve your webpages by adding a little bit of information on them. This information is however in the form of PDF and therefore needs to save the PDF as HTML before it can be published to your website. Step 1: Open the PDF Document to Export to HTML

If you are using Windows, click "Open…" to select the PDF you would like to convert. You can also click on the "Convert PDF" tab and then drag and drop the PDF file to the popup window that appears.

If you are on a Mac, click on the "Convert" button in the top-right corner of the window. You should see a pop-up window appear. In this window click on “Add Files” to open the PDF you want to export to HTML.

Step 2: Edit the PDF before Exporting to HTML (Optional)

  • Bookmarks: Once the document is open, you should see a number of options to edit the document in the right hand side. The first option allows you to add a bookmark on any location within the document. You will also see all the bookmarks already added to the document. To add a new one just click on "Add". Clicking on any of the bookmarks will send you to its location on the main document.
  • Annotations: The second option is to Annotate. This one allows you to add notes to the main document. Under this section, you should see all the annotations already made to the document. Double click on one and you will see the actual annotation.
  • Edit texts: To edit the text in the main document, click on "Edit Text" and then click on the text you want to edit within the document. You should now be able to edit he text within the Box that appears around the text. You can also add more text. To do this simply click on "Add Text" and then click inside the document where you want to add text. You should see a text box where you can now enter the new text you want to add.
  • Add images: To add a new image to the document, click "Add Image" and then select the image you want to add from your Photo Library.
  • Add links: To add a Link, select the text you want to add the link to and then click on the "Add Link" option. You should see a dialogue box appear where you can add the link and select the link settings. Click "Set Link" once you are happy with the selection.
  • Add passwords: If you choose to, you can also Password protect the document. To do this select "Protect" and you can choose from the available options to either add a password, manage an existing password or sign the document.

Step 3: Export PDF to HTML

Once you are happy with all of the changes you made to the document, you are now ready to convert the document. If you are on Windows, click on the "Home" button and then click on the "To Other" option. From the drop down menu choose "Convert to HTML". The program will ask you to save the changes you’ve made. Once this is done, a popup window will appear. You can change the output folder by clicking on the "Browse" button. Then click on "Convert" and PDFelement will save PDF as HTML in the selected output folder.

If you are using a Mac, just click on "Convert" button at the top left of the document. You can then select the output format and folder and the PDF document will be saved in HTML format.
