Part 2 How to Convert PDF to Smaller File

Step 1. Import the Large PDF File

Launch your PDFelement. Click "Open" to browse through your files and select the document you wish to make smaller.

For Mac users, open the file you want to make smaller by clicking the "Open File" button.

Step 2. Convert Large PDF File to Small Size

Click on "File" on the top menu and choose "Optimize". You then will be presented with different compression options. Depending on your file size choose the option that serves you best. If you choose "Custom", a window will appear these specifications for the output requirements. For great quality output select the highest dpi settings. Click "Optimize". Your document has been optimized.

For Mac users, go to "File > Optimize PDF". Once it is open, you will be with a small window with different quality options that you can choose from. Click on the quality that best serves you. Click on "Save As" and name your file and specify the location you wish to save it in.
