Part 2How to Edit Text in PDF on Mac (El Capitan and Sierra Included)

PDFelement for Mac is compatible with Mac OS X 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, 10.10 (Yosemite), 10.11 (El Capitan) and 10.12 (Sierra). Download and install this application to get started.

Step 1. Open PDF File on the Program

Once you have downloaded and installed PDFelement on your Mac. Launch it to add files to the program. Just click on the "Edit PDF" button, which is boldly indicated under the blue area. The very PDF file will then be opened on the program.

Alternatively you can add files to the program by clicking on "Open File" button at the bottom right. The program will then direct you to you the finder where you will have to search and open the PDF file you want to edit.

Step 2. Start Editing Text in PDF

At the top tool bar, click the "Edit" button to enter editing mode. You can then double click the text block to modify, insert or delete text. To easily and smoothly edit text, you can also click "Mode" to choose between "Select whole paragraphs" and "Select lines only". Then you can edit text in line or paragraph bounding box.

To add new text block, you can click "Edit > Add Text". Use your mouse to draw a text block anywhere on your document and then type in text inside it. To remove unwanted text, you can select the text and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard.

Step 3. Change Text Format in PDFs

PDFelement will automatically match the font formatting, enabling you to type in the some font with what on your PDF. And newly-typed text will naturally flow into adjacent lines with consistent line and character spacing, giving you a uniform look.

You will also see a formatting bar on the top, with which you are also able to adjust font type, size, color, make text bold and italic according to your needs.

Step 4. Save PDF after Editing

To apply the changes made permanently, you need to save your work. Go to "File" and click on the "Save" option. You have now edited text on your PDF file.
