First step is to run PDFelement and open the PDF file that is to be covered in the PDFelement. To do this, click the "Open" button on the Home window to import your file.
For Mac users: Open the PDF file with PDFelement on your Mac system by clicking the "Open File" button.
After opening the PDF file, you then need to click the "Protect" tab. Then choose the "Mark for Redaction" option. After clicking it, use the cursor to select the information.
For Mac users: Move to the top right corner, click the "Arrow" icon beside the Redaction button to open up further options that are available for covering up information. Click the "Mark for Redaction" button and select the items that you are going to cover.
After marking the text, you can also set the appearance of the redaction box using the Gear icon in the top right corner. You can choose colour of your choice from the wide range of colours available. Tick the "Overlay Text" button to add custom text and specific codes over the redacted area. For applying the redaction, click on the "Apply Redactions" option.
For Mac users: when you click on the redaction area, you can also see the Properties window expanded on the right side. You can change color, put overlay text and codes onto the redaction area. Finally click "Redaction > Apply Redactions" to start covering text in PDF.
